Today the Home Office have announced the launch of Round 5 of the Safer Streets Fund.
The Round will run for 18-months across the 2023/24 and 2024/25 financial years, and will continue to focus on targeting neighbourhood crime, violence against women and girls, and anti-social behaviour.
For this Round, Police and Crime Commissioners across Wales and England will be eligible to apply for approximately £1.4m to deliver interventions tackling neighbourhood crime, ASB and VAWG, rather than having to bid for funds. This reflects learning and feedback from previous rounds which indicated the bidding process was overly time-consuming. Whilst the eligibility criteria has changed, with only PCCs now eligible to apply directly for funding, there will be a requirement for PCCs to work with local authorities in their local area in developing proposals.
