The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has launched a Community Contract funding initiative aimed at enhancing product safety awareness and action within communities. The initiative seeks to empower consumers and promote safety-related education.

This initiative aims to ensure that consumers are better informed about risks associated with product safety and are equipped to protect themselves and others. The opportunity is open to all, with no restrictions on who can apply for funding.
The funding scheme highlights two distinct product safety opportunities:
- Second-hand goods: Supporting initiatives that address safety concerns when buying or selling second-hand items.
- Disabled consumers: Promoting targeted product safety education and activities to meet the unique needs of disabled individuals.

- Funding amount: Projects under £10,000 (excluding VAT)
- Application deadline: Monday 7 July
- Project delivery timeline: August 2025 – January 2026

The OPSS will fund projects where products fall within their remit. Please note they cannot fund bids about food, chemicals, medical products or vehicles.
