Standing Together Against Hate
National Hate Crime Awareness Week returns from 11–18 October 2025, offering a vital opportunity for community safety practitioners, local authorities, police forces, and third-sector partners to come together in solidarity with those affected by hate crime.
The week is a national call to action to raise awareness, promote reporting, and support victims. It is also a time to remember those we have lost to hate crime and to reaffirm our collective commitment to building safer, more inclusive communities.
Resources to Support Your Work
To support engagement and awareness-raising activities, Victim Support has developed a comprehensive Partner Pack and Social Media Toolkit. These resources are designed to help practitioners and organisations amplify key messages, promote local events, and encourage reporting of hate crime.
The pack includes:
- A newsletter and calendar of events taking place across Wales
- Customisable social media graphics and messaging
- Guidance on how to host or support local activities
- Information on how to signpost individuals to support services
You can access the full toolkit and partner resources via the Victim Support Hate Crime Awareness Week page.
Events Across Wales
Throughout the week, a series of events will take place across Wales, including:
- Community engagement sessions
- Awareness-raising workshops
- Online webinars and panel discussions
- Local campaigns led by community groups and public services
These events aim to foster dialogue, challenge prejudice, and empower communities to stand against hate in all its forms.
How You Can Get Involved
Community safety practitioners are encouraged to:
- Share the campaign messages using the social media toolkit
- Promote local and national events within your networks
- Display campaign materials in public spaces and community venues
- Encourage victims and witnesses to report hate crime through trusted channels
Victim Support’s Wales Hate Crime Report and Support Centre offers free, confidential support to anyone affected by hate crime, whether or not they choose to report to the police. Support is available 24/7 via phone, email, or live chat.
