The Single Unified Safeguarding Review (SUSR) process came into effect in Wales from 1 October 2024.
The Single Unified Safeguarding Review is a single review process incorporating all reviews in Wales. This ensures affected families can expect a swift and rigorous review process. The SUSR eliminates the need for families to take part in several reviews. This will reduce the trauma and allow learning to be identified and acted upon sooner.
The statutory guidance outlines changes to the way safeguarding reviews will be undertaken.
Welsh Government have created a toolkit to provide practitioners with templates to use throughout the review process.
